Update on the “LW Group Grievance”

As communicated in Bulletin 62-23 from last November, UFLAC received the arbitrator’s decision on the Group Grievance filed for all members placed on leave without pay. The decision sided with UFLAC, and the arbitrator ordered the city to meet with us regarding the remedy for their unlawful conduct. Unfortunately, the city failed and refused to comply with the arbitrator’s order.

Today, UFLAC was officially served with the city’s Petition to Vacate, which asks the state superior court to set aside or overturn the arbitrator’s decision and award.

We are extremely confident that the court will find that the arbitrator’s decision is legally enforceable and order the city to comply.

We realize this continues to negatively impact many of you and your families, which is why we have never wavered from our commitment to seek a just outcome by enforcing and protecting your rights.
